Mama, birth doesn't have to be scary.
Birth can be peaceful. You can find yourself in the midst of quiet, calm moments.
You can find yourself smiling, humming along to a sweet melody as you sway through a contraction.
You can find yourself getting some of the most restful, restorative sleep you've ever had between contractions.
You can find yourself getting excited as you realize it's almost time to push.
You can meet your baby as a high rushes through you, and you can ride that wave for days, even as you move through learning your baby's scent, sounds, and touch.
You can look back on your birth with an overwhelming sense of joy, not just at your baby's arrival,
but at the process that led up to it.

This is how I remember each of my three births. And they were in a hospital, with nurses going in and out, with monitors attached to me, with interventions happening that would make some naturally-minded mamas clutch their pearls.
I am not the doula that believes beautiful births can only happen under a midwife's care or in your home.
But the things that make your birth beautiful don't come standard in your hospital room.
Your ultrasound pictures, reminding you what you're working for, must be packed and hung up.
The flameless candles flickering as you slow dance with your partner must be packed and set up.
The new nurse at shift change won't know to keep the lights low if you don't communicate with her.
The OB won't know you want music playing during pushing if you don't talk about it first.
You have to know your options, make intentional choices, and prepare to make those a reality.

Welcome! My name is Autumn Baker and I am a Certified Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, Certified Lactation Educator, and mom of three!
I was once a confused, overwhelmed first-time mom that really just wanted to have a positive birth experience.
That seemed out of reach as I listened to my friends' and families' birth stories.
Through a lot of time, research, and certifications (that I recognize not every new mom has the time or energy for),
I learned what the options were and how to advocate for my choices.
I was able to go on and have not just one but THREE beautiful births.
So beautiful, in fact, that it became my passion to help other moms to LOVE THEIR BIRTHS as much as I did.
Unlike lengthy (and potentially expensive) childbirth classes that can be boring and irrelevant to your birth wishes,
I offer a quick and painless 45-minute session (for a fraction of the cost) to hone in on:
~ what YOU want for your birth,
~ the array of choices available to you,
~ and the tools to communicate your choices to your birth team.
Book a session with me at the link below and let's get you set up in under an hour to have a BIRTH YOU LOVE!
